Computer Science is a course that deals with the study of theory, analysis, design and application of different programming languages and how they can efficiently perform specific tasks like computations through basic and complex operations, including storing, retrieving and transforming variety of information.

This course is designed to produce highly competitive IT professionals with specialization in software design and development, database and web-based applications.

With the industry’s growing demand for programmers, AICS has devised means to give its students the chance to be globally competitive. This course is designed to provide students with the necessary skills, knowledge and understanding on the role of information management in today’s business environment making them proficient in day to day’s office tasks and procedures using English communication as the primary means and computer as a basic tool.

The curriculum structure gives emphasis on the proper handling and managing of business information giving more in-depth analysis and perspective on the diversified aspects of the business world.

This course gives the engineers, architects, designers, draftsmen and others a firm foundation in desktop, graphics and image-editing software. Students learn about electronic drawing using AutoCAD and CorelDraw; edit and restore images using Photoshop and their utilities. Students are also introduced to plotting techniques, vector illustration, bitmap creation, painting, animation and other graphics-oriented concepts.

This course will introduce the students to the real essence of the Internet, its structure, concepts, and methods used so as to familiarize them with the marvelous world of information technology. The focus is on Web page/site development and e-commerce using core and advance web development tools. The students will gain practical experience in operating popular web-browsing software, develop interactive web pages and learn practical and essential e-commerce principles. They will also learn how to recognize, troubleshoot and resolve common performance related problems in web page/site development and maintenance.

CISCO Networking (Modules 1 to 4)
This course covers the various topologies used in networking. It deals with the study of how information flows through a network using Computer as a basic tool and other requisite hardware as the essential means. It gives the knowledge, skills and ability to design, build and maintain a network that is very useful in today’s modern world of networking. This course entitles one to be a future Network Operations Analyst, Network Engineer, Data Network Specialist, Technical Support Consultant, Network Sales Engineer and Network Support Analyst.
The program consists of four (4) modules:
Module 1: Fundamental of Network Topologies  70 hours
This course covers the basic theories of Electricity, Internet  connectivity, operation of Ethernet, bridging and switching techniques. It also includes the overview of Transmission Control Protocol/ Internet Protocol  TCP/IP reference model and protocol suite.
     
Module 2: Routing Technology  70 hours
This course introduces the standard devices and technologies in a Wide Area Networking (WAN) , modes and configuration of router. It also covers Internetwork Operating System (IOS) and Open System Interconnection (OSI) model.
     
Module 3: LAN Switching Theory 70 hours
This covers an overview of Network planning and design that are related to routing. Problems, solutions and designs involve in LAN, and Spanning Tree Protocol are also included. 
       
Module 4: Advanced Networking 70 hours
This course deals with Wide Area Network (WAN) Technology devices and designs. It also covers WAN Protocol Management + CCNA review for CCNA certification.

ORACLE SHORT COURSES
Module 1: Introduction To Oracle 9i: SQL  40 hours
This course offers students a sufficient introduction to data server technology. It covers the concepts of both relational and object relational databases and the powerful SQL programming language. Students are taught to create and maintain database objects and to store, retrieve, and manipulate data. Students learn to retrieve data by using advanced techniques such as ROLLUP, CUBE, set operators, and hierarchical retrieval. They also learn to write SQL and SQL*Plus script files using the iSQL*Plus tool to generate necessary and relevant reports. 
     
Module 2: Oracle 9i DBA Fundamentals I 40 hours
This course is designed to give students a firm foundation in basic database tasks and learn to design, create, and maintain an Oracle database. Students will gain a sufficient understanding of the Oracle database architecture and how its components work and interact with one another. Students will also learn how to create an operational database and properly manage the various structures in an effective and efficient manner. This course is designed to prepare you for the corresponding Oracle Certified Associate exam. Exam #1Z0-031.
     
Module 3: Oracle 9i DBA Fundamentals II 40 hours
This course gives the Oracle database administrator (DBA) a firm foundation in Oracle Net administration and backup and recovery case operations. Students learn about transporting data between databases and the utilities used to perform these activities. Students are also introduced to networking concepts and configuration parameters, as well as how to solve some common network problems. In hands-on exercises, students configure network parameters so that database clients and tools can communicate with the Oracle database server.
       
Module 4: Oracle 9i Database Performance Tuning 40 hours
This course will introduce the students to the importance of good initial database design, and the method used to tune a production Oracle9i database. The focus is on Database and Instance tuning rather than specific operating system performance issues. Using the available Oracle tools, such as Oracle Enterprise Manager (with the Diagnostics and Tuning Packs) and STATSPACK students also learn how to recognize, troubleshoot and resolve common performance related problems in administering an Oracle database.

SCHOLARSHIP
The following Scholarship programs are being honored and made available to all deserving students of AICS:

A.
AICS Scholarship for Freshmen
This type of scholarship is to be based on the result of the scholarship examination conducted free of charge during the career orientation period. The resulting score of the examination determines the rate of the scholarship discount in the tuition fee. Only the newly high school graduate level can avail of this examination.
   
B.
AICS Dean's List Scholarship
This scholarship is being granted only to students who have an average grade of 1.75 and above with no periodic grade of 85 in any subject. The rate of scholarship discount varies with the average grade of the student.
   
C.
PESFA Scholarship
The Private Education Student Fund Assistance (PESFA) is being offered by TESDA for high school graduates who would aspire to take courses in the private technical vocational institutions. This is a government incentive to encourage high school graduates to take operative, craftsmen and technical/vocational courses in the private tech- voc schools. Those students who will qualify for this program are whose parents have a gross income of not exceeding P120,000 per annum. Students must have a general average grade of 80 percent upon graduation in high school. The applicant will be given a qualifying exam by TESDA and must secure an application form. Those who will be granted scholarship will have a subsidized tuition fee in the amount of P4,500 per semester to be given directly to the school, stipend of not more than P2, 500.00 per semester to be given directly to the grantee, and a book allowance of P250 per semester.
